Product Details

Our allspice essential oil is steam distilled from the berries of Pimenta officinalis. It is sometimes known as pimento berry oil or Jamaica pepper, and is a member of the Myrtaceae (myrtle) family. Allspice berries are native to the islands of the Caribbean Sea and Central America. It has an affinity for the digestive system and can be used in massage oil blends for the abdomen. Enjoyable in diffusers, perfumes, and body care products, allspice oil supports positivity and offers comfort with its grounding qualities.

Aroma
Allspice oil is a middle note with a warm and spicy aroma with touches of sweetness. The name allspice comes from the blend of aromatic notes similar to cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, and ginger.

Constituents
Allspice typically contains eugenol, methyleugenol, and β-caryophyllene. Eugenol is found in significant amounts in clove oil, cinnamon leaf oil, and basil oil.

Blending and Uses
Reminiscent of the holidays with its warm and welcoming scent, allspice essential oil adds piquant touches to perfume oils and cosmetic recipes. It is often found in a variety of men’s cosmetic products. Allspice is a popular addition to massage oil blends used for occasional muscle aches. This oil is also a wonderful addition in your diffuser to help support seasonal wellness.

Allspice essential oil blends well with earthy oils like patchouli or opopanax, as well as spice oils like bay, black pepper, or ginger. It also matches beautifully with citrus oils like orange, mandarin, or lemon, as well as the floral notes of lavender, geranium, and ylang ylang.

This oil has a strong scent and can be a potential irritant, so we recommend starting with a small quantity at first to not be overpowering.

Packaging
1/2 oz. and 1 oz. essential oils are packaged in amber glass bottles with drop reducers for easy application. Larger sizes are packaged in amber screw cap bottles and do not come with reducers or droppers.

Safety
This essential oil is potentially carcinogenic and may inhibit blood clotting, cause skin sensitization and mucus membrane irritation. Never use essential oils undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified healthcare practitioner. Keep away from children and pets.

Before using perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back. Apply a small quantity of properly diluted essential oil and cover with a bandage. If you experience any irritation use carrier oil or cream to further dilute the essential oil on the skin, and wash with soap and water. If no irritation occurs after 48 hours, it is safe to use on your skin. Learn more about using essential oils here.
