Sandalwood oils have a long history of use in perfumery, aromatherapy, and body care. Prized for their woody, resinous aroma and excellent tenacity, sandalwood oils are among the strongest natural fixatives used in aromatic blending, providing a rich base for long-lasting compositions. Their warm, grounding aroma lends depth and balance to a variety of blends.
Our New Caledonia sandalwood is sourced from the islands of southwestern New Caledonia where forests of the Santalum austrocaledonicum trees grow across the archipelago. With the backing of the government forestry administration, eight indigenous tribes divide this resource, carefully managing for sustainability by planting three trees for every one tree used.
Aroma
Warm, creamy, woody notes with a soft sweetness. New Caledonia sandalwood is often compared to Indian sandalwood for its rich, smooth aromatic character.
Packaging
Our 5 mL, 1/2 oz., and 1 oz. sizes are packaged in an amber glass bottle with a reducer cap. We do not recommend storing essential oils with a dropper in the bottle.
Safety
Never use essential oils undiluted, in eyes or mucus membranes. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified healthcare practitioner. Keep away from children and pets.
Before using perform a small patch test on your inner forearm or back. Apply a small quantity of properly diluted essential oil and cover with a bandage. If you experience any irritation use carrier oil or cream to further dilute the essential oil on the skin, and wash with soap and water. If no irritation occurs after 48 hours, it is safe to use on your skin. Learn more about using essential oils here.
