Product Details

Quercus alba is a native of the eastern and central regions of North America. This medium-sized hardwood tree is named for the light color of its finished wood. Its bark has the typical rough texture that is a common feature of other oaks. The wood is renowned for its versatility and use in the creation of furniture.

The white oak derives its botanical name “quercus” from the Celtic words “quer”, meaning “fine”, and “cuez”, meaning “tree”. The bark is filled with a bounty of tannins, making it astringent and drying. This botanical is used for its beneficial qualities and admired for its affinity for the digestive system. White oak bark is often prepared as a tea, used in the creation of topical formulations, or extracted.

Our white oak extract is made with dried bark at our extract facility in Eugene, Oregon by our qualified team. It can be taken in water or juice or blended with other extracts like chamomile or fennel. This tincture may also be added to teas such as happy tummy tea.
