We’ve combined the enticing flavor of chai tea with traditional bitter and aromatic herbs to create a delicious and truly enjoyable digestive bitters blend. Bitterness is a flavor that signals our body to prepare for the digestive process and has been a staple in the repertoire of herbalists worldwide. Our chai herbal bitters are slightly warming and include botanicals such as turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon. This chai bitters blend is a tempting treat added directly on the tongue before meals and can also be enjoyed in fizzy water and teas.

Global healing traditions such as Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and folk herbalism have all used bitter foods and herbs for their wellness-supporting properties for thousands of years. Although bitterness is one of the few tastes that most folks generally try to avoid, it signals the body to begin secreting digestive juices, stimulates peristalsis, and helps to support a well-functioning gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Several cultures macerate bitter herbs in liqueurs to create a pre-meal libation (aperitif) or an after-meal digestive aid (digestif). These beverages remain a popular wellness-supporting custom in Europe today.

Our chai bitters are an enticing formula of traditional chai tea flavors expertly blended with bitter and aromatic herbs. They can be added to water (sparkling, still, cool, or warm) or enjoyed directly on the tongue. Our chai herbal bitters can even be added to teas, homemade chocolates, and other culinary treats. Slightly warming and bursting with flavor, chai bitters are a truly delightful way to gain the benefits of bitters.

Our chai bitters contain ginger root which supports healthy digestion and helps relieve occasional upset stomach and nausea and dandelion root which is traditionally used in many system of medicine to support digestive and gastrointestinal health.*

Bitters are generally taken 15 minutes before a meal but can also be enjoyed after eating or even between meals.
