Product Details

Common throughout India, Asparagus racemosus is a member of the asparagus or Liliaceae family. The shatavari plant has small, uniform green leaves, tiny white flowers, blackish-purple berries, and numerous tuberous roots. These roots have been utilized as an Ayurvedic herb for centuries and are considered to have supportive properties for the reproductive system.

Also known as satavar, shatavari is a highly revered in Ayurveda as an herb that compliments women’s health and is considered the most important Ayurvedic botanical to support the reproductive system. Shatavari is an Indian word that translates to mean “she who possesses one hundred husbands”. This profound herb can be incorporated into herbal formulations, infused as tea, and used to create liquid extract.

Our organic shatavari extract is macerated in small batches with organic alcohol by our qualified extract team. This tincture has a mild taste that is subtly sweet and slightly bitter. Shatavari extract blends well with others including red raspberry extract, dong quai extract, or nettle leaf extract. It can be taken directly on the tongue or in water or juice. It can also be added to teas such as our vita-blend tea for an additional wellness boost.

Organic alcohol, water, and dried organic shatavari root.
