Meadowsweet has a long history of use in traditional European herbalism for its beneficial properties and sweet aroma. It was often employed as a strewing herb to freshen indoor spaces. Filipendula ulmaria is native to wet meadows in Europe and western Asia. Meadowsweet flowers are particularly aromatic and are often added to potpourri blends and infusions. Meadowsweet flower can also be used to add a kiss of sweetness to teas, beverages, and foods.
