One of the oldest living plant species on planet earth, Ginkgo biloba is estimated to be over 225 million years old. Native to a small region within Zhejiang province of China, it is difficult to find ginkgo growing in the wild. However, the tree is widely cultivated across the globe and continues to be one of the best-selling herbs in the United States and Europe.

Ginkgo leaves have a long history of use throughout traditional Asian herbal practices, especially in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Revered for millennia for its spiritual and healthful significance, ginkgo remains a symbol of resilience, hope, and enlightenment. In TCM, ginkgo leaf was traditionally employed for its affinity for the heart and respiratory system. Additionally, ginkgo supports overall cognitive health and helps maintain healthy circulation.*

Typical preparations of ginkgo leaf include infusions of ginkgo tea and extraction. The leaf is often blended into herbal formulations and various beverages. Ginkgo leaf powder is also popular to take as a capsule.
