Botanical Name: Ascophyllum nodosum Capsules Per Bottle: 100 mg Per Capsule: 575
Kelp is an underwater plant with a majestic form and deep green color. Commonly referred to as seaweed, this botanical beauty is actually a brown algae in the Fucaceae plant family. Ascophyllum nodosum only grows in the cool northern Atlantic Ocean and is especially common along the sheltered shores of western Europe. Kelp has long branched fronds with large air bladders attached along the plant’s length. The kelp powder we use in our capsules is harvested in the pristine waters of coastal Iceland.
Kelp has long been considered a great source of nutrients and can be easily added to any diet. Powdered kelp is often sprinkled onto rice dishes, soups, and salads. It even makes a nutritious smoothie and can be blended into juices. Kelp powder is occasionally added to bath and body products for its beneficial properties including in herbal bath bombs and face masks. For those with a more discerning palate, we offer encapsulated kelp powder.
