Occurring in Europe, Asia, and North America, Lady’s mantle is a member of the rose family and has a lengthy history in traditional European herbalism for its many beneficial uses. It first appeared in botanical literature in Jerome Bock’s “History of Plants” in 1532. The scientific name Alchemilla derives from the Arab word Alkemelych, or alchemy, for this plant’s reputation for containing magical potency. Legend surrounding lady’s mantle emphasizes the dew that gathers in the center of the furrowed leaves, which is said to be a core ingredient in multiple alchemical formulas.
Alchemilla vulgaris has a special affinity for supporting many attributes of women’s health. It is revered for its astringent properties, both internally and externally, among other beneficial qualities that the herb has been known to contribute.
Our organic lady’s mantle tincture is made by our expert team, using the fresh macerated aerial portions of the plant. It has a light, botanical taste that is pleasant when taken in a little water or juice. It can be added to a nice cup of tea, such as our women’s balancing tea, or try it combined with our mineral care extract, or other herbal extracts for a personalized blend.
