Native to the Puno and Moquegua regions in the Peruvian Andes, maca root is a food staple that is often made into cookies, flan, smoothies, syrups, and liquor. The cultivation of maca is considered to have begun with the Incas 2,000 years ago. This sweet, spicy root is treated as a delicacy in Peru. It is often referred to as a “superfood” due to its abundance of healthful and nutritional attributes.
Maca has historically been employed as an amorous herb and continues to maintain that notoriety today. It has an incredibly rich history of traditional use as a panacea and is often referred to as “Peruvian ginseng”. Lepidium meyenii is revered for its adaptogenic and nutritive qualities.
Our maca tincture is made with dried organic root by our qualified team in Eugene, Oregon. This earthy liquid can be taken directly on the tongue, in water or juice, or in a smoothie. Maca extract mingles well with others such as ashwagandha extract and eleuthero extract. It also makes a nice addition to adapt care extract blend or adapt chocolate elixir.
