Product Details

Avena sativa, or the common oat, has been consumed as a popular cereal grain for at least 3,000 years. Its domestication is believed to have taken place around the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, eventually expanding to the wet and cooler climates of Europe. The plant grows with erect stems and long blade-like leaves. The florets mature into the edible oat, and at the immature stage, they exude a milky white substance. The young, milky tops are harvested for their nutritive value.

Tender, immature milky oat tops are revered among herbalists for their calming and beneficial properties. This plant is highly valued for its ability to restore balance with its nervine qualities. Oats have a classic restorative tonic appeal that is incredibly versatile.

Our oats tincture is made with fresh, organic milky oat tops and organic alcohol at our extract facility. This wonderful extract has a somewhat sweet flavor and pairs well with other extracts such as hawthorn extract, skullcap extract, or ashwagandha extract. Oats extract compliments a cup of easy day tea or peace tea, quite well.
