Organic opopanax oil is steam distilled from Commiphora erythraea resin. This base to middle note is also known as sweet myrrh and has a bright resinous scent with sweet-balsamic undertones. The oil contains a lot of resin which can separate over time, creating resinous crystals on the bottle.
This oil can be used in perfumery as a fixative, blended into cosmetic products, and incorporated into rituals and meditation as an aromatic resin. Energetically opopanax is balancing and calming. Opopanax essential oil is popular in cosmetics and aromatherapy, and blends well with frankincense, grapefruit, cinnamon, or sandalwood oils.
Blends Well With
Opopanax has a clean scent that blends well with most aroma notes including other resin oils like frankincense or myrrh, floral notes like lavender, and citrus notes like sweet orange and grapefruit. Because of its soft undertones it also supports woody and spice type oils.
Packaging
1/2 oz. and 1 oz. essential oils are packaged in amber glass bottles with drop reducers for easy application. Larger sizes are packaged in amber screw cap bottles and do not come with reducers or droppers.
