Our organic wintergreen essential oil is a top to middle note steam distilled from the leaves of Gaultheria fragrantissima. It has an intensely fresh and minty aroma and is most often found in creams and salves used for tired and sore muscles from occasional overexertion.
Wintergreen plants are found in many parts of the world scattered throughout North and South America and Asia. As the name ‘wintergreen’ describes, these bushy plants grow low to the ground and remain green throughout the year with shiny leaves and bright red berries.
Our wintergreen oil comes with a child-resistant lid.

Blending and Uses
Wintergreen oil is popular in salves, creams, and massage oils for occasional aches in muscles or joints. It can be used as a single essential oil in topical formulations or with other oils that have similar revitalizing actions such as helichrysum, ginger, ravensara, or vetiver. Add to a roll-on bottle properly diluted in your favorite carrier oil to easily apply to specific areas.
After a run, hike, or long day on your feet use a blend of wintergreen, peppermint, and rosemary with your favorite carrier oils, butters, or added to unscented lotion to refresh tired soles.
Use in homemade cleansing sprays for yoga mats, martial arts gear, gym bags and more with a few drops added to a base of water mixed with witch hazel, vinegar, or ethanol. The addition of lemon, lavender, or tea tree add aromatic punches to your cleansing spray. Use wintergreen in the washing machine or to help freshen up sweaty work boots.
Exercise caution and be sure to dilute this oil at 2% or less in the total recipe before applying to skin.
