Panax ginseng is a perennial member of the Araliaceae family, native to the mountainous, forested region between China and Korea. Considered more stimulating than American ginseng, red ginseng is processed by steaming and drying with the root skin left intact. The red ginseng root used in our extract is organically cultivated.
Ginseng root has been long revered in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and throughout other Asian healing practices. A literal translation of “ginseng” from Cantonese means “human root” referring to the root’s resemblance to a person. According to TCM, ginseng root is a qi herb tonic working primarily on the meridians of the spleen and stomach and is considered to be energetically warming. Historically, ginseng was employed as an adaptogen in TCM both as a single herb as well as in wellness supporting formulas.
Our red ginseng tincture is made at our extract facility in Eugene, Oregon by our qualified team. Red ginseng extract blends well into formulations and can be combined with other liquid extracts such as maca root extract and epimedium extract. Take in water or juice or consider adding to herbal teas like blossoms of health tea or happy man tea.
