Product Details

Reishi is widely used for general overall support, often as a daily tonic. Our extract powder can be added to broths and soups, drink mixes, and wellness formulas.

Ganoderma lucidum is a native species to North America, Asia, and Europe. Reishi’s history in Traditional Chinese Medicine goes back thousands of years, first appearing in the records during the Han dynasty in the last two centuries BCE. Known as the “divine mushroom,” reishi was historically reserved for royalty, but thankfully for modern plant and mushroom minded folks it is readily available today. It can be found growing on the trunks of deciduous trees, but has increasingly been cultivated on logs, sawdust, and woodchips as its use has become more popular.

Our one-to-one extract powder starts with whole reishi mushrooms that are cultivated on wooden logs in shade houses.  After harvest, they are ground into a fine powder that is then extracted in water at 90°-100° C for three hours. When this decoction is complete, the water is evaporated producing a concentrated fluid. With the mushroom powder still in the fluid state it is sent to a spray drier which produces a fine powder. In this process the raw material is never removed from the extraction. This makes for a more bio-available product than simply powdered mushrooms, which need to be cooked or further processed in order to release the beneficial properties.
