Gaining in popularity, cordyceps mushrooms are a wonderful addition to drinks, smoothies, and savory broths. They are known for their energy and stamina support and have long been used in Traditional Tibetan and Chinese medicine to support immune health and battle fatigue.

Wild cordyceps, found mostly in tropical climates, is rare and expensive. Until recently, cultivation has been limited to the mycelium of the fungi, produced either in fermentation tanks or cultivated on grains like rice and soybean. Our cordyceps mushroom extract powder is made from the fruiting body.

This one-to-one extract powder begins with cordyceps mushrooms that are cultivated in a grain-free liquid substrate. Once mature they are made into a fine powder that is then extracted in water at 90°-100° C for three hours. When this decoction is complete, the water is evaporated producing a concentrated fluid. With the mushroom powder still in the fluid state it is sent to a spray drier which produces a fine powder. In this process the raw material is never removed from the extraction. This makes for a more bio-available product than simply powdered mushrooms, which need to be cooked or further processed in order to release the beneficial properties.
