Most often found in Asian cuisine, these sprouts offer a refreshingly nutty crunch to any meal. They are considered mild in flavor due to their higher water content which makes them able to take on a wide range of flavors and be versatile in many dishes. Mung beans hold up better than other sprouts when heat is applied, however it’s recommended to only cook for a minute or less to retain their characteristic crunch.
Sprouting seeds should be soaked for 8-12 hours and will sprout in 2-5 days. They need to be thoroughly rinsed with cool, clean water every 8-12 hours. Refrigerate your sprouts after their final rinse.
