Yucca is a member of the Asparagaceae family and can be found growing in arid climates ranging from Alberta, Canada, the Great Plains, and further south in Texas. Traditionally, the whole plant has been utilized; the roots for their healthful qualities, the flowers and seed pods for food, and the leaves to make ropes, mats, and baskets. Due to the saponins present in the roots, yucca is also referred to as soapweed. Our yucca root powder is ground from wildharvested Yucca glauca.
