This self-seeding herbaceous perennial is native to California, Oregon, and the southwestern USA. These yellow and orange flowers are prolific and provide a delightful display in early spring to early summer. The best method of growing California poppy is to strew the seed on the surface of disturbed soil in the fall to early spring. These plants are very easy to establish, and thinning is not necessary.
